With over 20 classes and clubs, we have special opportunities for you to mix and meet with others, get creative ideas, and make memorable projects and cards for the holidays. Come by soon and see. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ ATCs with Christy Christy has prepared some special ATCs. She has some fun techniques, images, and ideas for you to try on these creative cards. Bring workbox. November ATC Swap Bring 5 to 25 artist trading cards (ATCs). The more you bring, the more you receive! We prefer identical cards—don’t make us have to choose! Create these ATCs in 3 steps: background, a rubber stamped focal point, and an embellishment. Each 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" card must be hand stamped. No home party stamps or color copies please. If you are unable to attend, please mail your ATCs to the shop. Include a self-addressed envelope and sufficient postage to return your trades to you. If ATCs are new to you, come by for information and inspiration. There are over 2,000 ATCs at A Small Cleverness. Holiday Star Metal Embossing Come get an early start on the holidays with this lovely embossed metal star. This star will be a lovely decoration, tree ornament, or gift in itself. Plain metal becomes beautifully sculpted with the art of metal embossing. It is easy and fun. With only a few simple tools, you will create a raised design. Whether you are new to the art of metal embossing or have taken classes before, you will have fun making this piece. Keep it for yourself or give it as a special handmade gift for the holidays. As a bonus, you will receive a handout describing all the steps you have learned and an extra surprise. Bring your workbox and the following supplies (available at A Small Cleverness): 6" x 6" sheet of metal, hand lotion, acrylic sheet, suede, colored ballpoint pen, masking tape. Metal tools: Teflon deer foot/point refiner; big star wheel; #3, #2, and #1 cup and balls; paper stump; wooden thumb; and dot-line wheel. Paper Bells Learn to rubber stamp, heat emboss, and paint paper sections with Twinkling H2Os to create a dimensional card and a 3-D bell. These decorative bells are particularly appealing for the holidays but can be used all year. Bring workbox and small watercolor brush. Thursday Stamp Club Fall Cards Create 3 cards with an autumn theme using a variety of rubber stamps and techniques. Bring workbox. Sew Inchies Create a 5" x 7" card suitable for framing featuring 12 sewing themed inchies. Inchies are 1" x 1" rubber stamped pieces of art. Use tissue pattern paper, dimensional sewing notions, punches, papers, and more to create this charming piece. Bring workbox. Glitter Card Create a glittering Christmas card with a special glue, ultra-fine glitter, window plastics, and a rubber stamp. This technique can be used with many rubber stamps for any occasion. Bring glue, glue tip, and workbox. Tuesday Stamp Club Holiday Doorways These welcoming seasonal doorway cards will get you in the mood for Christmas. Come and refine your skills with watercoloring using markers. Or, if you are new at this technique, let Mary Ellen show you how easy it is to create 2 superbly colored cards using the new doorways rubber stamp and the delightful December/January accessory set. Bring workbox, watercolor palette ($1.79), small watercolor brush, Marvy Matchable Timeless Sepia ink pad, and Marvy Brush watercolor markers. Ask for marker list. Optional to bring: stamps used. 3-D Christmas Count Down Get an early start on the Christmas Holiday Season by decorating and rubber stamping this 25 drawer 8" x 8 1/4" x 1 1/2" box where you can stash tiny Christmas trinkets, treasures, and treats. Distress, rubber stamp, and embellish each drawer. Bring Count Down Box, olive pastel color box chalk ink pad, Archival Sepia ink pad, red and green stickles, 5/8" hole punch, and workbox. Cindy will supply other materials and treats for the drawers. Challenge Christmas “Joy” Banner Deck your halls with Christmas “Joy” when you create this colorful three pennant mini banner. Use beautiful papers, ribbon, rubber stamps, miniature ornament, stencils, postage stamps, and glitz on this decoration for your home that you can use year after year. Learn to make a pleated paper rosette for this project that you will be able to duplicate at home to use on cards, gifts, and ornaments. Bring workbox, Adirondack Caramel ink pad, and color duster or stipple brush. Optional to bring: Versamark ink pad, sponge dauber, and JOY stencil. Invasion of the Inchies I tried to resist . . . but I have strayed into this miniature world and there is no going back! These deceptively addictive little rubber stamped gems are only 1" x 1" but the creative potential is huge. Discover this hot trend for yourself in this fun class and create 6 inchies. Beware, you won’t want to stop! Bring workbox. Christmas Workshop Create 6 rubber stamped paper projects for the holidays: a pillow box, an embellished 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" metal frame, an ATC with wire hanger, an inchie block ornament, a matchbox ornament, and a Christmas card. Bring workbox. Paper Bouquet Tags Make a wonderful collection of 3-dimensional floral tags for special holiday gifts and cards using paper punches. These embellished tags make delightful gifts. Bring workbox. Kit Class Extra kits from this year’s classes are available for you to finish at your leisure in this self-directed class. Beware, you won’t want to stop! Bring workbox. Workbox A workbox rental fee of $5.00 is required for those who forget to bring a workbox. Please refrain from wearing any kind of scents in the shop. It is objectionable to those with sensitive noses and/or health conditions. Remember to bring your workbox to every class or club! Please review the workbox list to be sure your box contains everything listed before the next class. For your convenience, these items are available to purchase at A Small Cleverness. In addition to the specific supplies listed for some classes, bring the following basic tool kit to every class: black marker, ruler, stylus, permanent black dye ink pad, 1/8" hole punch, dental floss threader, tape, pencil, scissors, bone folder, foam tape, X-acto knife with new blade, small cutting mat, small watercolor paintbrush, tape runner, glue stick, double-sided tape, disposable glove, and wet glue. Students who do not bring these items may purchase them at class time. Please keep your workbox compact. Large boxes take up too much space in the classroom. Class Policy Prepaid registration is required. Names cannot be placed on class lists until payment is received. No refunds can be issued for any class cancellations. A store credit will be issued for a class fee taught by a local instructor only if notification of cancellation is made 48 hours prior to class time. A class kit, as complete as possible, due to the nature of the class, will be given to students who cancel a class less than 48 hours prior to class time. For out-of-town instructors, cancellations received prior to 5 days will result in a store credit. Students who cancel a class less than 5 days prior to class time will receive a class kit, as complete as possible. For out-of-state instructors, the criterion is one week for a credit, less than one week for a kit. A Small Cleverness reserves the right to cancel any class (with full refund) for lack of minimum attendance. Class fees can be paid in person, with a charge card by phone, or with a check by mail.
